You have often heard me say how important compliance is to our shared success at Calpine. Our Code of Conduct, ASPIRE Values and company policies, as well as the laws and regulations that govern our industry, establish guidelines and rules to keep us on the right path. Plain and simple, adhering to them isn’t just good business, it’s the right thing to do.
Calpine provides several avenues for reporting suspected incidents of noncompliance. We have an open door policy, so you can speak to your direct supervisor or other leaders at your plant or in your department at any time. In fact, you can talk with anyone in Human Resources or on the management team, the Chief Legal Officer’s team or the Chief Compliance Officer’s team. Please be assured that Calpine does not permit and is committed to preventing retaliation for reporting concerns.
If you prefer to report an incident anonymously, you may use this portal or our hotline number – 1-800-461-9330 – to report concerns about any issue – from financial/accounting practices to environmental/safety risks to unprofessional behavior on the part of employees, contractors or vendors, or anything else that raises a compliance concern. This is a third-party service that provides the specifics of your concern to a select management group who will review it, investigate it and provide you a response, again through this completely anonymous third-party portal.
If you see an example of noncompliance, please tell us – it matters. We cannot avoid problems or address them if we don’t know about them.
